Katie Davis – January 2016

Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru?

My husband and I joined in July of 2015.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

My biggest accomplishment at Bluprint so far has been that I have consistently been attending classes 3-5 times a week for a year. Wowza! I never imagined that I’d be working out at a CrossFit gym, let alone any gym, that consistently for this amount of time. Also, finishing the 2016 CrossFit Open and competing in the Trodo Games were both pretty amazing.

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint Fitness?

I keep coming back to Bluprint Fitness because of all the GAINZ :). The staff is amazing. They’ve built a super supportive, friendly, community of athletes to conquer workouts with. They are so inspiring, motivating, kind, and knowledgeable. From the moment Matt and I walked into the gym for the first time, Byron and Janelle believed in us and told us we could do it. So, we started to believe in us. It’s amazing. My confidence level, fitness level, and overall happiness level have all increased. I see positive benefits every time I go to the gym. I am actually setting goals and achieving them. It’s pretty awesome.

What is your favorite thing to do at BP Fitness?

My favorite thing to do at Bluprint is all the learning! Everyday I go to the gym I learn something new; whether it’s a new skill, lifting technique, an idea on healthy, clean eating or surprising myself by doing something that I thought I couldn’t do.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

Even if you think you’re the type of person who doesn’t “belong” in a CrossFit gym, JOIN Bluprint! Get out of your comfort zone and try something new. You won’t regret it. If you asked me a few years ago if I would ever be an athlete at a CrossFit gym, I would’ve laughed in your face but here I am amazing myself on a regular basis and doing things I never thought that I could do. You can do it too!

What do you do for fun?

I hang out with my husband and our 3 cats, read (right now a great book about CrossFit called “Learning to Breathe Fire”), watch movies, and I teach 1st grade, which is super fun.

Coach’s Comments

Katie has shown hard work and dedication both inside and outside of the gym. Improving eating habits by introducing the crockpot and more home cooked meals, conquering burpees/OHS, and being consistent with her attendance are just a few of the steps Katie is currently taking to improve her health & fitness. Now called regularly by here CrossFit name, Katherine Davisdottir, Katie is well on her way to crushing many more goals!
