YOU control what you eat, who you hang around, who/what influences your decisions, and how good of shape you get in.
So what does this have to do with eating out?
In today’s society we correlate “eating out” with “unhealthy” and that’s far from the truth.
Yes, eating out is a luxury. A luxury of choice and a luxury of convenience; meaning YOU choose your “eating out fate”…
You can choose to eat healthy when you go out, OR you can choose to eat unhealthy when you go out.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe you should occasionally indulge and live a little…But that doesn’t mean it has to be your “eating out fate”.
I’m sure everyone knows how to order the “good stuff” when you are out to eat, so let’s touch on an example of HOW-TO order something healthy at a restaurant.
THE ORDER: “Can I get the grass-fed burger without the bun and instead of fries can I get a sweet potato mash and a side of veggies? I will start with a water and a salad with the dressing on the side please.”
YOU just rocked that order. You made that order your biatch!
There are very few restaurants that don’t honor these requests especially if you are open to a small up-charge. And let’s be honest…this is your health we are talking about…it’s well worth the investment!
So here’s your ORDERING OUT CHEAT-SHEET:
- Hold the Bread/Bun (processed carbs)
- Substitute fries for a potato mash or veggies if this isn’t an option
- Ask for extra veggies or order a side salad to make sure you are getting enough greens
- Dressing & Sauces on the side
- Water Please
